Teachers / Staff

Sara Caldwell, owner, manager, designer

After years of going through the craft-of-the-day, Sara took a jewelry making class from a local artist in Lansdowne. She bought beads early on through online websites and she sold those beads in that class...thus paying for her class. She had always dreamed of owning a small business in a field that she loved. Well, she loved those beads!!!! She couldn't seem to get enough of them. She started with seed beads doing shows with Carole Haines and working out of the basement of her townhouse. She decided to open a shop. The rest is history.... seven years strong and hopefully lots longer with the friends she's made over those years.

Carole Haines, retail associate, teacher, designer

Carole has been enjoying crafts for about 30 years and is a published beading designer. She has enjoy needle work, sewing and seed bead stitching. PMC (precious metal clay) and Polymer clay take up a lot of her time at home and she loves teaching these very different clay methods. Carole has been with Blue Santa Beads since the inception and looks forward to many more years of continued success.

Karen Pontari, retail associate, teacher, designer

Karen has enjoyed beading for 11 years; beginning when her interests were peaked by a colorful magazine she bought to read on a plane to Colorado to visit her daughter.  Her first bead store, Let It Bead, which she visited every day for a week, was family owned and responsible for the launching of an interesting hobby. Karen has been a member of the staff at Blue Santa Beads for almost 4 years and teaches most of the classes offered, applying her talents to techniques such as stringing, basic wiring, Kumihimo and seed beading.   Come and visit Karen on the weekends; she especially loves to help with color combinations and design ideas.  Her only complaint is that there are not enough hours in the day for beading!
